I had informed Safrane when I made my reservation that I was allergic to garlic. Turns out that just about every dish on their extensive menu contains a ginger garlic paste that is inserted in pre-cooking preparations. It would be nice if restaurants can leave some dishes unprepared so they can modify recipes to accommodate diner’s food allergies.
That said the waiter was very helpful and was able to find one type of dish, Tandoori chicken, that could be prepared without garlic.
I had been looking forward to eating kosher Indian food and had heard many good things about the restaurant.
